SCARCE - Minor's 1865 Patent Camp Lantern - Fold-up camp candle lamp w/handle, folds to 3/4" thick, open, 3" by 3 3/4" by 5" high. 19th Century Patriotic Slate Pencils - Lot of 6 slate pencils, these date anywhere from the civil war up to 1910. Smoking Pipe - 19th century pipe remains in excellent condition, does show use & wear, stem is 7" long, bowl is 3 3/4", marked, stiasnyefia\kormoczbanya, along with a hallmark at the base, I suspect this is from Hungary/Germany. The bowl material looks to be mould & of Gutta-Percha or India Rubber, I say circa 1870's & 1880's, it could be older, nice period pipe here, I have not had much luck putting an exact date of manufacture. - Price is $ 125.00 plus shipping and insurance. SCARCE - Civil War Playing Cards - Excellent to near mint set of American Card Company playing cards. Box shows light wear from storage complete with 1864 tax stamp. Cards show no wear, I dont think they where ever played with. I have had several decks over the past years, never have I seen any this nice before. This is a complete set of 52 cards, you will be hard pressed to find a better deck of cards as seen here. LARGE MASTER Flask - Civil War Period large master flask, the size is big, 8" tall by 4 1/2" wide by 2 1/2" thick. Maker marked on the bottom James Dixon & Sons Sheffield. Flask shows age & use with some light dents, very small old solder repair, cap good with cork inside. Knapsack Tin Match Case - This container used to store & carry wood matches, some matches remain inside. Shaped like a Civil War Knapsack, very popular with veterans at reunions & encampments. Leather Wallet - Circa 1840's leather wallet with original paper tags fixed. The size is 8" long by 3 1/4" closed, open, it is 13" long by 8" wide. Two paper tags fixed to leather as when made. Large Travel or Portable Desk - Dated inside 1848, with possible owners or makers name. The size of the desk is 16" by 8" by 6 1/2" closed. When open, the size is 16 1/2" by 16" by 4 1/2" reverse to a 1 1/2" front. Heavy wood, just over 10 pounds. Condition overall good, shows age & use. Some chipping to the tiger maple veneer, other wood looks to be walnut. Brass handles original, only negative is the lock is missing. - Price is $ 150.00 plus shipping and insurance. LARGE Barrel Shaped Traveling Rose Wood Ink Bottle - Carried by most soldiers in the civil war, has spring inside bottom of glass insert to keep pressure on lid when closed, 2" tall by 1 3/8" diameter, excellent condition overall showing honest age with small chip on bottom. - Price is $ 125.00 plus shipping and insurance. Abraham Lincoln's Style - Ink Well - Lincoln used the exact type & style of period wood ink well in the White House. Made by S. Silliman & Co. of Chester, CT. Ink well is turned wood with 2 glass vials, 3 holes for pens, painted with 3 gold hearts with arrow, 3 1/2" in diameter by 2" high, good condition overall showing honest age. Goodyear Patent 1851 Syringe - Goodyear syringe, BIG, 10" long overall with a 1 1/2" diameter body. Made by the IR Comb Co Goodyear 1851 and so marked on the top. Antique Pencil Box w/contents - 19th century pencil wood storage box remains in good condition, no key, lost to time. Box is 8 1/4" long by 2 1/2" wide by 1 1/2" high. Looks to be made from apple wood ? Box contents is one bone handle ink pen, very scarce bone handle stick pin ink pen and 2-nibs. 1865 Bible - Reverend Angelo Ostrander's personal bible dated 1865 & so marked with his name in gold gilt. Bible is of the old & new testaments, made by American Bible Society New York. Reverend Ostrander was a pastor in several Methodist Churches in New York State. You can find the same 1876 photo of him online. The size is 5" by 3 1/2 wide by 1 1/4" thick. Psalams & Hymns Bible - Circa 1850 to 1860's, I find no date, other the the extract minutes of Synold held in Hagerstown, Maryland September 1830.
