South Carolina Militia Shoulder Straps & Hat Insignia - SCARCE & Outstanding Set of pre-civil war insignia used during the civil war by South Carolina troops. The straps are 3 3/4" long by 1 3/8" wide, blue velvet field with a thin layer of green dyed morocco leather. The hat palmetto tree insignia with black velvet field, same green morrocco leather backing on the reverse as the straps, size is 2" tall by 1 3/4" wide. All brass bullion wire & sequins have turned very dark from many years of storage.
