Medical Officers Sash - Silk medical officer sash is 10' feet long overall with 9" tassle & knots, sash body is 4" wide laid flat. Sash remains in very good condition showing honest age & use. Civil War Confederate General Officer's Sash - Excellent condition overall with no mothing, shows minor wear & use with light staining. Sash body is 5" laid flat with a total of 12 feet long, the knot & tassel are 9 1/2" long. Sash identified to CS General Joeseph A. Reeves of Camden, Arkansas. Enlisted first in the City Guards of Camden, of his home town, became a 1st Lieutenant May 15, 1861 in Co H of the 6th Arkansas Regiment, then promoted to captain of company & commanded for 2 years, was participant in all engagements west of the Mississippi, near the end of the war made General Officer. Born August 22, 1836 Died October 12, 1912, Sash purchased by Doris Mackenzie from the family of Frances Fitzpatrick, maiden name "Rodgers" fathers name Steven Rogers, possible a niece, the 90 year old husband could not remember if Joseph Reeves was an uncle or great uncle of Frances which passed some 10 years ago or more. SCARCE & RARE - Eagle Head Officer's Spurs - Seldom ever seen for sale, high grade, this pair shows little use & wear. Gold gilt remains on both showing a nice age patina. SCARCE Officers Fedora or slouch hat - Circa 1870's to 1880's, Indain War period hat with masonic insignia. This could easy date to the late civil war. Scarce example here, somewhat semi-stiff black felt with a 2" sweat band, sewed brim border, complete with original ostrich feather & rosette. Hat size marked size 7, velvet masonic insignia full size, 3 1/2" high by 2 1/2" wide,, just like the insignia from the civil war. Hat shows light wear & use, remains very good condition overall. Brass Bugle - Brass Artillery Bugle maker marked Henry Keat & Sons as well as the mouth piece. Bugle is approximately 10 1/2" long with a 4" diameter reinforced bell, very good condition showing use & wear with minor dents, nice dark patina, artillery cord is a replacement and not original. Artillery Shell Jacket - Artillery Shell Jacket with a 12 button front, 2 3/4" stand up collar. Jacket complete with all original buttons, no backmarks, all front buttons resewed, 2 are replaced with period buttons, 2" seam separation left shoulder, easy fix if desired. Civil War Cavalry Hardee Hat - Excellent condition overall, hat shows honest age & light use. Original cavarly hat cord & brass insignia with double stitch border brim, feather is a replacement. Shows no signs of ever having a hardee hat plate, good chance it never was issued with a feather. Hat would look just fine without the feather if you so desire. Original label inside with Eagle US Army No 7 1/8" note,, scarce paper tag. Maple Shell Drum - Post Civil War snare drum, circa 1890 to 1920. Paper maker label inside vent hole, The Imperial Co Cincinnati O. Drum is 16" in diameter by 11" high, 2 leather ears missing. Overall good condition, shows age & use, some wood shrinkage to side that look like cracks, thats what happens to bent wood. Massachusets Linen Haversack - Haversack is complete with rice bag, both bone inside buttons have been removed. Overall bag size is 9 1/2" by 9 1/2" with a 1" wide strap 46" long. Inside outer flap is stamped, cant decipher the letters. Overall in excellent condition showing honest age and light use. SCARCE CIRCA 1840 CHAPEAU HEADGEAR - Excellent Example here of one of the most sought after headgears, shows honest age & use, complete with inside liner & sweat band. Painted Wood Drum - circa 1875, I date this Indian War Period to a little later by label & maker. Paper label inside reads, Manufactured for Oliver Ditson Co Everything in Music Boston Mass by Lyon & Healy Chicago. Drum is 16" by 11", painted blue shell with gold painted hoops, missing some leathers, some are replaced, rope very old, could have been replaced at some point. Lincoln Style Top Hat - 19th century black cloth collapsible top hat, maker inside John Wanamaker. Stands 5 1/2" tall, approximate hat size is 6 to 6 1/2. Shows wear & use, back spring broken with no harm to display, small hole and pulled loose some at top, see photo. GAR Frock Coat - Excellent condition overall with no mothing. Frock coat with 11 button front, 2 cuff buttons each sleeve and 4 buttons to skirt, couple have been replaced. Two pockets inside breast and one in each tail. Jacket has a 1 1/4" stand up collar, sleeves are 20 1/2" long. Jacket is 36" long overall with a 18" skirt, 17" wide shoulder to shoulder. Maker tag is Lilley Company Military Goods Maker, coat is circa 1880 to 1890. Jacket is a original GAR made coat and not a put together with just adding GAR buttons. New York National Guard Coatee - NYNG 19th century uniform, overall good condition showing honest age & use. One front row of breast buttons missing, 1 reverse tail bomb missing. Collar shows the most wear on the inside. One inside tail pocket with one inside chect pocket. Maker label inside, Brooks Brothers Broadway New York. Both original epauletts show age, one is pinned, one with some wire holding to jacket, one shoulder epaulette strap broken with little harm. Cotton lining inside remains good overall showing honest wear. New York National Guard Coatee - NYNG 19th century uniform, overall very good condition showing honest age & use. Small in size as most are, overall 36" long from the top of collar to bottom of the tails. Shoulder to shoulder is 15" with a 2" stand-up collar, sleeves are 26" long, 2 inside tail pocket with one inside chect pocket. Maker label inside Ridabock & Co New York, dates the coat. Button backmark by the same maker, 48 total buttons, two are missing, one on the cuff, one on the tail. Inside cotton padded lining remains very good with light soiling. 19th Century French Brass Shell Drum - Drum is is 16" by 11 1/2" high, the shell & hoops are original with everything else being replaced. Hoops have been painted blue, paint shows areas of wear & scuffs. I date this drum circa 1870 to 1880, will pass as a civil war period piece. Indian War Period McDowell Style Officers Cap - More scarce than the civil war counter part, seldom seen today. Both New York buttons, chin strap, liner, sweat band all original. Maker marked inside with Ridabock & Co Formally Baker & McKenney Military Goods 141 Grand St New York. Overall very good condition showing honest age & light use. SCARCE Burgundy Officers Sash - Crimson or maroon silk sash is 9 foot long overall, 108" with 10" tassle & knots, sash body is incredible 9 1/2" wide. In all my years of collecting, buying & selling, I have NEVER encounter any this wide. Model 1899 Regulation Cavalry Khaki Field Blouse - Spanish American War uniform with cavalry shoulder tabs, worn by Army Enlisted Soldiers. Shoulder tabs can be replaced easy for any branch of service, artillery or infantry if you like, both pairs are included. You can set up displays of artillery, cavalry or infantry and include a uniform. Overall blouse is in good condition showing honest age & light use, some age stain from storage. All general staff eagle buttons in place with Horstmann Philadelphia backmarks. Blouse is 26" long overall with a 5 button front and a 1 1/2" fold down collar. Pattern 1881 Cavalry Officers Helmet - Excellent condition overall, helmet shows honest age & light use. The only negative is the sweat band has a small tear and is loose, needs glued, you fix if desired. The orginal horse hair yellow plume missing and was replaced with a pattern 1887 darker one. Reproduction Civil War Drum - Made by Noble & Cooley Company, overall drum is 17" in diameter by 14 1/2" high. Made for the sesquicentennial using the same jigs, fixtures and material as they were made 150 ago in 1861. This one is number 8 of 50 for 2011.
