SCARCE 1861 Ammo Box - Wood ammo box is 10 1/2" wide by 9 3/4" deep by 6" high, check out the large dovetail corners. Box is all original, bottom inside is tin lined. The yellow paint marking Ammunition 1861 and the owner's name Wm. Benj Phelps is original to the box. I show several other boxes, last 3 images. To my research, these boxes were originally fuze boxes and then converted for use to hold ammo. You can see this box had the lock changed and was made personal for William Benjiman Phelps. Austrian Lorenz Bayonet Intrenching Tool - Scarce find today, bayonet fashioned into a working intrenching tool when attached or fixed to the musket. Post civil war wood handle added for garden or farm tool, note the old square head nail. Wood handle is 39" long, has many cracks from storage & age. Chancellorsville Bullet in Wood - Nice display, 58 caliber round ball bullet in wood with frame. Old tag tells the story on reverse, dated 1949 how it was purchased at the battlefield antique shop by Roy Deets. Wood is 8 1/2" long by 2" & 1 1/2" wide by 1 1/4" thick. Photo frame is 9" by 7", bullet in wood is screwed from the reverse frame.
