Artillery Shell - U.S. 3" Type 2 Absterdam Common Shell, the size is 2.95" in diameter, 7 1/2" long, 8.8 pounds. The shell threads can be seen, fuze missing, retains the lead base cup or sabot, missing the anti-friction band, this was recovered from Virginia, nice shell ready for display. Confederate Clover Leaf Pike Head - Excellent Item Here and very hard to come by in the market place. It is my opinion and that of Shannon Pritchard that these were used as Flagstaffs and unit line markers. The CS Pike Head is 20 1/4" long by 6 1/2" wide at center, allthough dug condition, shows very little ground reaction. SCARCE Wilmot's Patent Expansible Brass Tompion - Tompion has the patent marking around the rim & dated, marked as follows, "Patented Nov 24 1863", for the 58 caliber Springfield Rifle, tompions were used in the end of the rifle muzzle to prevent water & dirt entering the barrel, good condition overall showing honest age. - Price is $ 145.00 plus shipping and insurance. Rosewood from the ship Lawrence, War of 1812 - The Navy intentionally sank two ships of Master Commandant Oliver Perry in Misery Bay, Lake Erie from the War of 1812 Campaign. The Lawrence later recovered and displayed at the 1876 Centennial Exposition, Philadelphia, Pa, later that year the ship burned when the pavilion that housed it caught fire. The wood section is 22" long by 3/4" in diameter at the large end, paper label intack and remains very good & dated as well 1876. US Artillery 20LB Parrott - Another big boy, 10 1/4" tall by 3.6" in diameter, 17.5 pounds, percussion type zinc fuze with brass sabot, shell has been drilled with 1/4" hole in the side. US Horse Bit - Nice example marked & stamped W.P.Wilstach & Co, this Phila, Pa. maker made alot of different stuff for the Civil War, from saddlery to insignia, good condition with both brass bosses removed & front rein bar replaced, bar replaced a very long time ago & is hard to notice, all typical of confederate usage, overall with light rust from barn storage. - Price is $ 150.00 plus shipping and insurance. Tin Fork & Spoon - Stamped US in the handles & 7 1/2" long, I date these to the Indian War, Spanish American War period, found in a barn here in Pennsylvania. Austrian Lorenz Bayonet Intrenching Tool - Scarce find today, bayonet fashioned into a working intrenching tool when attached or fixed to the musket. Post civil war wood handle added for garden or farm tool, note the old square head nail. Wood handle is 39" long, has many cracks from storage & age. There is no question the handle was added shortly after the war. Socket spade is 1" wide, 5 1/2" long overall, scarce relic here. - Price is $ 275.00 plus shipping and insurance. Item - R-50-1274
