RARE - Civil War Artillery Driver's Saddle Valise - Identified Civil War Saddle Valise used by D. B. Fulton of the 1st Pa Artillery. The accompany note says purchased in 1849 & name on flap appears to his with an 1860 date. The cover or flap has cracking to leather finish as well with some to body of box, the straps are restorations, box has good form with no problems, shows honest wear & use. The cover size is 23" long, body is 7 1/2" wide by 6" deep. MINTY & Scarce - US Model 1864 Cartridge Box - Excellent example of a 69 caliber Elongated Ball Cartridge Box seldom found for sale. Box is complete showing very little wear & use, excellent stamped maker & inspector marks to boot. The maker is R. Nece/Phila with sub-inspector being F.A. Sniffen. Leather Drum Bandoleer - Near Mint Leather Belt, brass buckles with 16" long drum sticks, made of ebony with brass caps, one stick was broken and repaired, hard to notice, good repair, both sticks not a perfect match, look good though. The Belt leather is about 40" inches long and display's very nice along side a drum. RARE - Civil War Period Childs Leather Boots - The boots are 9" high in the front, 6" long from toe to heel, wood shoe pegs can still be seen center bottom. The boots have some post war repairs, one leather boot pull is separated, leather is very good overall with honest wear. Militia Officer's Sword Belt & Buckle - Circa 1835, Outstanding example here, leather belt remains in excellent condition and is complete with shoulder strap & buckle. Leather belt is all natural with fold edge construction, 2" wide by 32" long, there is a name in period ink written on the inside. Brass buckle is rolled brass & die struck complete with both iron keeper, the size 60x70mm. US Cartridge Box - The cartridge box leather is in good condition, missing the inner closing end flaps or dog ears. The finial strap button hole was torn and repaired with touch of glue at one time. Box has both roller buckles and tins, cartridge box is a pattern 1861 69 caliber, the US box buckle is a reproduction and could easy be replaced with a original if so desired, LOOKS GOOD AS IS. - Price is $ 450.00 plus shipping and insurance. Confederate D-guard Leather Scabbard - SCARCE to find today, black bridle leather remains excellent overall, belt loop complete & intact. The size is 15" long by 2 3/8" wide & remains for 11", then tapers, will take a 1 3/4" wide blade, 3" of the drag or tip thread weak & torn. Carbine Socket - Model 1859 - These were used to secure the carbine muzzel. If the soldier was thrown from the horse while the carbine was in place, he took a chance of being dragged to death. U.S. Cap Box - The cap box is complete, both belt straps are good condition and comes with period musket caps & pick as found inside. US 58 Cal Cartridge Box - The box is a type 1 Pattern 1864 .58 caliber enlongated ball with a Embossed U.S. The leather has been cleaned, treated and in very good condition, stiching strong. The tins could be early reproduction, hard telling on these. Box overall is very good missing the inner tin cover flap as seen on many & cut by soldiers for easy access to the cartridges. - Price is $ 450.00 plus shipping and insurance. Item - L-32


RARE Early Militia Cartridge Box - The box is most likly one of the first model 1839's, no maker marks found, never cut for a box plate. The leather box size is 6 3/8" wide by 3 3/4" high by 1 1/2" thick. The original tins each are 3" wide by 3 5/8" high by 1 1/2" thick, the top section is 1 1/2" deep, bottem is 2" high. Not much information in regards to these very early boxes. Outstanding early example very seldom found anywhere. This is untouched and could use a coat of leather treatment which will make this look brand new. Civil War Period Leather Medical Bags - The 2 box size is 5" high x 3" 1/4 deep x 5" 1/2 wide, one box is missing a buckle with a 2" tear on the cover flap at fold or seam. Leather is strong with honest wear & use, no maker marks. A total of 6 post war bottles are inside, the bottles are not original to the medical box. Scarce Post-Revolution Cartridge Box - WOW, Nice early Militia brown leather cartridge box with 24 round tin insert. The size is 6 1/2" wide by 3 3/4" high by 2 1/2" deep, leather over-all excellent, showing very little wear & use, just honest age, only missing the closure strap, other wise, complete, leather just a tad dry, back straps & stiching good.
