Revolutionary War Cartridge Box - American Militia Waist boxes like these are getting impossible to find anymore, circa 1775. Cartridge box remains very good overall with both belt straps intact which most of time are broken or missing. Closure strap is missing & period button added to front, a period repair here. Wood cartridge block for 24 rounds is 7 1/2" by 2 3/4" by 2 1/2" deep. Leather box overall 8 1/4" wide by 7" high by 3" deep, little corner age cracking to outer flap on the reverse to be expected on a 233 year old box. RARE - Civil War Period Childs Leather Boots - The boots are 9" high in the front, 6" long from toe to heel, wood shoe pegs can still be seen center bottom. SCARCE Militia Cartridge Box - The box is most likly one of the first model 1839's, no maker marks found, never cut for a box plate & never had buckles. The box size is 6 3/8" wide by 3 3/4" high by 1 1/2" thick. Original tins inside, each are 3" wide by 3 5/8" high by 1 1/2" thick, the top section is 1 1/2" deep, bottem is 2" high.
