Wood Flask Canteen - Imported in large quantity during the civil war from Europe, originally held wine. As seen in Lord's Encyclopedia, volume 1 page 74. Canteen shows age & use, worm holes and cracked at the bottom, partial leather strap remains. The size is approximate, 7 1/2" in diameter, 10 1/2" tall by 5" thick. US Model Bullseye Canteen - Gold painted Bullseye canteen, maker on spout is Porter & Booth. Maker mark is filled & covered in gold paint, some loss & wear to paint from storage and a small push or dent to bottom side. Complete with all 3 strap hangers. Civil War Era Miner's Canteen - Canteen is made of copper, 9 1/2" tall by 6" wide, nice looking, minor small dents add character, small push to the top side, still has the original cap. Civil War Era Medical Canteen - Oval Medical canteen is made of tin with solder seams. The body size is 9 1\2 long x 6 3\4 wide by 1 1\4 inches thick. Canteen has two period repairs which does little harm, the one side is dented. These canteens worn on the side were made curved to fit against the body. The original spout cap missing and replaced with a period cork. This type of canteen was used for both hot and cold water. - Price is $ 225.00 plus shipping and insurance. Item - C-9


Civil War Period French Pattern 1858 Army Canteen - Scarce example here, issued to the 18th Massachusetts, 62nd & 83rd Pennsylavania regiments and later to 49th & 72nd New York. See the Mike O'Donnell's new canteen book for severall examples listed. The size 5 5/8" tall not to include spouts, 5 3/4" wide by 2 3/8 thick. Canteen show light rust, both strap hangers intact, these came without covers. US Smoothside Canteen - Full size civil war smoothside canteen with applied brass GAR Disk. US Model Smoothside Canteen - Canteen was painted orange many many years ago, no question orange paint very old, I suspect it's home was in a GAR Hall. US Model Bullseye Canteen - The canteen has minor rust to the surface with 3 small pin holes. Spout has no maker mark with the remains of leather in the top 2 strap keeper's. - Price is $ 195.00 plus shipping and insurance. Item - C-19


US Model Bullseye Canteen - Canteen has the remains of old black paint. A push to the one side and a minor dent to the reverse. The maker is " Hadden, Porter " and so marked on the neck. A good canteen over-all with no rust or holes. - Price is $ 225.00 plus shipping and insurance. Item - C-20


US Model Bullseye Canteen - The canteen is a Indian War conversion, with the bottem strap hanger removed and the top 2 added. The canteen does have a maker mark, worn thin & hard to read. Canteen does have a hole at the very bottom and denting, looks to have been hit by a wagon wheel ?? includes the original stopper.
